Single Search

If available, the Single Search option lets you search for a term over several sources.

Quick Search

  1. In Search For, type the search term or phrase.
  2. Select Show Search Progress if you wish to see information on the search as it is conducted.
  3. You can choose to search your library resources by select all the sources to be searched At the Library, or select the All check box to search everything.
  4. You can choose to search Electronic Resources by selecting the sources to be searched.
  5. Click Search to begin or Clear to start over.

Expert Search

  1. In Search For, type the first search term or phrase, then select And, Or, or Not to narrow the search.
  2. In the As box, choose to limit the search term by Title, Author, Description, or Subject.
  3. Continue refining the search with up to three separate terms or phrases.
  4. In the Sort By box, select how search results will be sorted.
  5. In the Results Display Level box, select to see full, brief, or online record displays.
  6. In the Retrieve box, select the number of results per source to display.
  7. In the Show box, select the number of results per page to display.
  8. In Search In, select all the locations for your search.
  9. Select Show Search Progress if you wish to see information on the search as it is conducted.
  10. Click Search to begin or Clear to start over.

You can monitor the search Sources, the search Hits, the number of records Retrieved, and the Status of the search from Search Progress. Click Stop or Stop All to end the search. Click Details to see more information about the search (such as failed searches).

Search Results

In Search Results you can view record and holdings information about the items in the hit list. Click Availability or Full Record for more detailed information. Click Linking for expanded search options.

You can navigate through the hit list by clicking First Page, Previous Page, Next Page, Last Page, or More Records.

You can change the hit list display by selecting Results Display Level and Sort Results options. You can Filter Results by typing information and clicking Filter.

You can select the check box by individual records, or select the Select All Records check box, to save (Quick Save As or Save As), Keep, Delete, Send, Hold, or Order items.

You can Refresh results or choose to Modify Search or perform a New Search.
